Meg Strickland Files for Candidacy, Launching Campaign for GA-14
ATLANTA, GA — Meg Strickland officially filed her candidacy at the Georgia State Capitol this week, taking the formal step required to appear on the ballot in the special election to fill the vacant U.S. House seat previously held by Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene vacated the seat ahead of the end of her term, prompting the special election process. In accordance with state law, all candidates were required to appear in person at the Capitol to complete and sign qualifying documents. The Georgia Secretary of State has set the special election date for March 10, 2026. Strickland was accompanied during filing by friends and her entire family, underscoring the grassroots and community-centered nature of her campaign. "This campaign is about stepping up, showing up, to restore steady, responsible representation for our district," Strickland said following the filing. With qualifying complete, her campaign will now shift into full voter outreach mode across Georgia's 14th Congressional District in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
