Abortion
A Mother's Perspective on Life, Justice, and Perseverance
The day Roe v. Wade was overturned is one I will never forget.
For decades, I have been committed to the pro-life cause, believing in the dignity and worth of every human life, born and unborn. The Supreme Court's decision to return the authority over abortion to the states was a momentous occasion—one that I had hoped and prayed for throughout my years of advocacy.
This decision reflects a fundamental principle of our democracy: that the most important decisions affecting our communities should be made closer to home, by the people who know and understand our values, needs, and circumstances.
In Georgia, as in states across the country, the conversation about abortion has now returned where it belongs—to the state level, where elected representatives can engage with their constituents and craft policies that reflect the will of the people they serve.
I believe that protecting the most vulnerable among us—including unborn children—is a moral imperative that transcends politics. It is about recognizing that every life has inherent value and deserves protection, regardless of stage of development or circumstance.
As a mother, I understand the challenges and fears that can accompany an unexpected pregnancy. I also believe in the power of compassion, support, and resources to help women and families in difficult situations, ensuring that both mother and child are cared for and valued.
I am grateful for the countless individuals who have persevered in advocating for life over the years, and I am committed to continuing this important work in Congress.
Where I Stand Today
I am pro-life. I believe that life begins at conception and that every human being, born and unborn, deserves protection and dignity. The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was a significant step toward restoring the proper balance of power between the federal government and the states, and toward protecting the most vulnerable among us.
I support Georgia's laws that protect unborn children and believe that the debate surrounding abortion should continue at the state level, where elected officials can best represent the values and priorities of their constituents.
At the same time, I recognize that this is a deeply personal and often difficult issue for many families. I believe in compassion, understanding, and support for women facing challenging circumstances, and I am committed to ensuring that mothers and children receive the resources and care they need.
My values are rooted in:
- Respect for life
- Personal responsibility
- Compassion for families and individuals at every stage of life
As I serve in Congress, I will continue to advocate for policies that protect life, support families, and ensure that we are focused on the urgent household and economic challenges facing Americans today.
A Government Families Can Trust Again
Meg Strickland's campaign is about restoring normalcy—a government that works, an economy families can rely on, and leadership we can trust. It means Congress provides systems that support Americans and reflects the values of responsibility, stability, and respect.
If you're ready for steady, common-sense leadership and a return to normal, Meg asks for your support. Together, we can change the tone and tactics of Congress—for our families and for the next generation.
